VILLAGE OF ROCKCLIFFE PARK
HERITAGE CONSERVATION DISTRICT
These late 19th century gates once graced the entrance to the Birkenfels estate at the north end of Birkenfels Road. Birkenfels was built by Thomas Coltrin Keefer who resided there between 1864 and 1886. Its extensive grounds were laid out in the Picturesque style.

Cest portails de la fin du 19eme siècle ornaient jadis l'entrée au domaine Birkenfels située au nord du chemin Birkenfels. Thomas Coltrin Keefer construisit Birkenfels qui lui servit de demeure entre 1964 et 1886. L'aménagement de l'étendue des terrains était du style Pittoresque.
