Memorials in Ottawa: Metcalfe Remembrance Ceremony, November 11, 2014

On this Remembrance Day I went to Metcalfe to participate in the Remembrance Day Ceremony there. I took my camera to take pictures. I had not prior experience with this annual ceremony and I found myself in a place that was not a good place to take pictures. As well, the order of ceremony surprised me somewhat. I took thirty-five pictures and I maybe got two or three good ones. They are all posted here.

Pour ce jour du Souvenir, je suis allé à Metcalfe pour assister à la cérémonie. J'avais emporté mon appareil photo. N'ayant jamais participé à cette cérémonie annuelle, je me suis retrouvé dans un endroit peu propice à la photographie. De plus, le déroulement de la cérémonie m'a quelque peu surpris. J'ai pris trente-cinq photos et seulement deux ou trois étaient réussies. Elles sont toutes publiées ici.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,

For the Fallen

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
