The Rideau 150 time capsules occupy a location northeast of Chaffeys Lockstation north of Opinicon Road.

Buried beneath this cairn are the time capsules which detail the 150th Anniversary of the Rideau Canal. The purpose is to provide an account of what happened in 1982 and we the celebrants ask that it be opened in 2032 for the Bicentennial.

The Olde Forge

The Olde Forge stands on the southwest corner of Carling Avenue and Richmond Road.

The Olde Forge

This former house was constructed by George Winthrop beside his blacksmith's shop. The Winthrop family owned it until 1956, operating a popular restaurant here for many years. although there have been extensive changes to the building, the log walls on the ground floor are original. In 1974, the Olde Forge was converted to a community resource centre for West End residents.

The Olde Forge

Cette ancienne residence fut construite par George Winthrop, à proximité de sa forge. La famille Winthrop en emeura propriétire jusqu'en 1956, y tenant un restaurant Populaire Durant de nombreuses années. Le bâtiment a subi d'imortantes transformations mais les mur en rondins du rez-de-chaussée son d'origine. En 1974, il a été converti en centre de ressources communautaires pour les residents de l'ouest de la ville.
