| EMPLACEMENT DU PREMIER HÔPITAL D'OTTAWA SITE OF THE FIRST HOSPITAL IN OTTAWA Cette plaque exprime notre reconnaissance à Soeur Élisabeth Bruyère et aux personnes qui l'ont aidée à fonder ici même le 10 mai, 1845, le premier hôpital général d'Ottawa au service de tous, sans distinction d'âge, de sexe, de langue, de race ou de religion. Ce petit hôpital, sis alors au 169 rue St-Patrick, fut précurseur de l'Hôpital Généreal d'Ottawa et du Centre de Santé Élisabeth-Bruyère, qui nous desservent si bien aujourd'hui. This plaque is in thankful memory of Sister Élisabeth Bruyère and those who helped her establish on this site, on May 10, 1845, the first general hospital in Ottawa where care would be given to the ill without distinction of age, sex, language, race or religion. This small hospital, originally located at 169 St. Patrick Street, was the forerunner of the Ottawa General Hospital and the Élisabeth Bruyère Health Centre that serves us so well today. Installed by the Sisters of Charity at Ottawa and the Volunteers and Friends of the Élisabeth Bruyère Health Centre and the Ottawa General Hospital.
