Robert and Linda Poulsen Gymnasium

The gymnasium dedicated to Robert and Linda Poulsen occupies a wall in the gymnasium in the Hunt Club-Riverside Park Community Centre on the northwest corner of Paul Anka Drive and McCarthy Road.

Le gymnase dédié à Robert et Linda Poulsen occupe un mur du gymnase du centre communautaire Hunt Club-Riverside Park, à l'angle nord-ouest de Paul Anka Drive et de McCarthy Road.

Robert and Linda Poulsen Gymnasium

This gymnasium is named in recognition of the extensive and extraordinary community service of Robert and Linda Poulsen.

Long-time residents of the Hunt Club neighbourhood, Robert and Linda have volunteered tirelessly in the community with local sports teams, the former Board of the Hunt Club Riverside Community Centre, the Quarry Co-op community and Linda's efforts supporting the settlement of refugee families in the community.

Gymnase Robert-et-Linda-Poulsen

Ce gymnase est nommé en reconnaissance des nombreux services exceptionnels rendus à la communauté par Robert et Linda Poulsen.

Résidents de longue date du quartier Hunt Club, Robert et Linda ont été d'infatigables bénévoles pour des équipes sportives locales, l'ancien conseil d'administration du Centre Communautaire de Hunt Club-Riverside Park, la communauté de Quarry Co-op et, pour ce qui est de Linda, l'établissement de families de réfugiés dans la communauté.

Approuvé par le Conseil municipal d'Ottawa le 28 février 2018.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

In Flanders field.

For the Fallen

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill: Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres.
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.

They fell with their faces to the foe.
