Owen Prince room
This room is named in recognition of the exceptional community service of Owen Prince.
In the 1990s, Owen Prince assisted in lobbying Kanata City Council for a Kanata seniors centre, and in 1999, City Council gave the go-ahead on the condition that the seniors raise a minimum of $150,000. Under Owen's leadership, the team exceeded its goal and raised $240,000.
Owen headed the design committee, and then helped to initiate the incorporation of the Kanata Seniors Council and became its first Vice-President.
Once the Centre opened, Owen continued to be a leader and actively involved in its programs and activities, in particular his founding of the "Sounds of Music" choral group.

Salle Owen-Prince
Cette salle est nommée en reconnaissance des services communautaires exceptionnels de Owen Prince.
Dans les années 1990, Owen Prince a participé au lobbying fait auprès du Conseil municipal de Kanata pour la création d'un centre pour aînés à Kanata et, en 1999, le Conseil municipal a donné le feu vert à ce projet à la condition que les aînés amassent au moins 150 000 $. Sous sa direction, l'équipe a dépassé son objectif, ammassant 240 000 $.
Own a été à la tête du comité de conception du Centre. Il a ensuite contribué à la constitution en personne morale du Kanata Seniors Council et en est devenu le permier vice-président.
L'orsque le Centre a ouvert ses portes, Owen est demeuré un leader et a participé activement à l'élaboration des programmes et activités, et notamment à la création de la chorale d'aînés « Sounds of Music ».
