Children of the Wind

Children of the wind stands on the west side of Commissioner Street south of Wellington Street, next to stairs that go down to the local section of the Trans Canada Trail.

Les Enfants du Vent se trouve du côté ouest de la rue Commissioner, au sud de la rue Wellington, à côté des escaliers qui descendent vers la section locale du Sentier transcanadien.

This vent stack exhausts filtered sewer gases from the city's interceptor sewer located 20 meters below ground. The sewer conducts sanitary waste to the R.O. Pickard Centre situated on the Ottawa River 10 kilometers east of this location.

Cette cheminée de ventilation évacue les gaz d'égout filtrés emanant de l'égout intercepteur municipal enfout 20 metres sous terre. Cet égout transporte les déchets sanitaires jusqu'au Centre Environnemental R.O. Picard situé à 10 kilometres, en bordure de la Rivière des Outaouais.

Au champ d'honneur, les coquelicots

For the Fallen

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,

Solemn the drums thrill: Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres.
