Manotick War Memorial Revisited

The War Memorial in Manotick occupies a place on the west shore of the western channel of the Rideau River on the west side of Dicknison Street almost directly opposite where Clapp Lane connects to Dickinson Street.

In memory of those men
and women of the Canadian and
Allied Forces, who made the
supreme sacrifice for
their country, in times of war,
peace or peacekeeping.

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM

THIS IS
THE ORIGINAL FENCE
FROM THE RESIDENCE OF
THE RT. HON. SIR ROBERT BORDEN
PRIME MINISTER 1911–1920
DONATED BY
R. G. (RICH) McDONALD
COUNCILLOR, TOWNSHIP
OF RIDEAU 1980

This existing barrier was salvaged from the former bridge that once crossed the river here. It has been reinforced for your safety. The barrier will be replaced by a new fence later this summer matching the decorative fence in the park.

La clôture actuelle est cell de l'ancien point qui enjambait la rivière à cet endroit. Ell a été solidifiée par mesure de sécurité. Elle sera remplacée cet été par une nouvelle clôture qui s'agencera avec celles ornant le parc.
