Naval Radio Station Plaque

In the Fletcher Wildlife Garden, formerly the site of a Naval Radio Station, a plaque on a rock commemorates the station. The Fletcher Wildlife Garden occupies a place on the east of Prince of Wales Drive, accessed by the first road to the left coming south from the roundabout at the entrance to the Experimental Farm.





NAVAL RADIO STATION—CFF
1940 - 1947


On this site in 1940, the Royal Canadian Navy operated a high frequency radio station with the call-sign CFF. The station received and transmitted messages between naval service headquarters, allied authorities, ships at sea, and frequently intercepted enemy transmissions. This plaque is dedicated on behalf of all naval veterans, to those who served here.

CFF—STATION NAVALE RADIO
1940 - 1947


Sur cet emplacement en 1940, la Marine Royale du Canada a érigé un bâtiment pour y loger une station radio à haute fréquence dont le signal était CFF. Cette station a reçu et tranmis des messages entre le quartie général du service naval, les autorités alliées, les navires en mer et aussi intercepta de nombreaux messages ennemis. Tous les anciens combatttants de la marine dédient cette plaque à ceux qui ont servi ici.
