Renfrew Swinging Bridge

In Renfrew the swinging bridge runs between Mutual Avenue and Arthur Avenue over the Bonnechère River east of the McDougall Mill Museum.

I walked across the bridge from the Arthur Avenue side and then back. Both ways I took pictures of the bridge in front of me as I went. They appear in that order below.

THIS TABLET COMMEMORATES THE OFFICIAL RE-OPENING OF
RENFREW'S HISTORIC SWINGING BRIDGE ON SEPT. 24, 1983. AFTER
FALLING INTO A STATE OF DISREPAIR THE BRIDGE WAS CLOSED
IN 1982. BY ORDER OF COUNCIL THE SWINGING BRIDGE WAS
RECONSTRUCTED BY TOWN FORCES UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF
THE TOWN'S DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT & WORKS.
