Ottawa Excellence Award Plaque for the Victoria Memorial Museum

The Ottawa Excellence Award Plaque for the Victoria Memorial Museum hangs on the wall of the stairwell just inside the front doors of the Canadian Museum of Nature, south of where Metcalfe Stree intersects with McLeod Street.

La plaque du Prix d'excellence d'Ottawa pour le Musée commémoratif Victoria est accrochée au mur de la cage d'escalier, juste à l'intérieur des portes d'entrée du Musée canadien de la nature, au sud de l'intersection de la rue Metcalfe et de la rue McLeod.

This Award of Excellence was presented to honour the complex exterior restoration of the Victoria Memorial Museum. The undertaking included the restoration of all stonework, windows, stained glass and the reinstatement of the Great Skylight over the atrium. The project began in 1993 and was completed in 1998.

Ce Prix d'Excellence a été décerné afin de souligner la restauration extérieure du Musée Commémoratif Victoria. L'enterprise a consisté à restaurer l'ensemble de la maçonnerie, des fenêtres et des vitraux, et à réamémaner l'immense puits du lumière de l'atrium. Les travaux se sont échelonnés de 1993 à 1998.
