Leo David Driscoll Memorial Fire Station

Ottawa Fire Services Station 43 on the west side of Old Richmond Road South of Robertson Road commemorates the memory of Nepean Fire Chief, Leo David Driscoll.







LEO DAVID DRISCOLL

This fire station is dedicated to the memory of Leo David Driscoll (1913-2001), Fire Chief of the former City of Nepean from 1952 to 1974, for his invaluable contribution to fire services and the local community.

In 1967, Chief Driscoll was awarded the Govenment of Canada Centannial Medal for his work with youth programs. In 1975, he received the Nepean Council Award of Merit in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the community and, in 1984, he received the Meritorious Service Medal of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Cette caserne est dédiée à Leo David Driscoll (1913-2001), chef du service des incendies de l'ancienne Ville de Nepean, de 1952 à 1974, en reconnaissance de son apport inestimable au service des incendies et à la collectivité locale.

En 1967, le chef Driscoll s'est mérité la médaille du centenaire du gouvernement canadien pour son travail auprès de jeunes. En 1975, le Conseil municipal de Nepean lui a décerné le prix d'excellence pour souligner sa contribution exceptionnelle à la collectivité; et en 1984, il s'est mérité la médaille du service méritoire de la Legion royale canadienne.
