Norman Hassall Memorial Tree

The Lower Nicholsons lock station occupies the east side of the Rideau River, on Nicholson Lane west of Burritts Rapids Road. A short distance south of Lower Nicholson's lock a maple tree standing on the east side of the channel memorializes Norman Bruce Hassall (1946-2017) of Smiths Falls.
