Steve MacLean Park

In Ottawa, Steve MacLean Park occupies green space north of Meadowlands Drive East, extending from Dear Park Road at its west end to Fisher Avenue at the east.

STEVE MACLEAN PARK
Named in Honour of Steve MacLean
Canadian Space Agency Astronaut

Steve MacLean was born in Ottawa in 1954 and grew up in the Fisher Heights area of Nepean. He attended Fisher Heights Public School, Merivale High School, and received his Doctorate in Physics from York University in 1983.

That same year, Steve MacLean was selected as one of six astronauts for the Canadian Astronaut Program. From October 22nd to November 1st, 1992 he was a member of the Space Shuttle Columbia, Mission STS-52. During his flight he conducted research experiments in space Technology using the Canadarm, space science, materials processing and life science.
